The briefing

About this game

Hammer Heads Deluxe is an arcade action game released on May 23, 2006. Players control a hammer with the mouse and smash gnomes emerging from holes across the game area.

Gameplay

Each gnome displays its remaining hearts, and the default hammer removes one heart per hit. Different gnomes have different health and characteristics, while more powerful hammers can be purchased from the shop. Players must also avoid traps such as bombs, since missed clicks, escaped gnomes, and activated traps reduce the player's hearts.

The player begins with five hearts. Hearts can be restored by clicking hearts dropped by defeated gnomes or buying them, and the maximum heart capacity can also be increased through the shop. Losing all hearts ends the game.

Shop and Rewards

Beginning at level five—or level six in the Deluxe version—the shop can appear from holes in the play area. It offers hammers, hearts, and other power-ups in exchange for coins. Coins can be collected from defeated gnomes, earned in bonus rounds, or obtained by defeating certain gnomes or using particular methods.
