An isometric action-adventure through Hogwarts’ hidden dangers

The briefing

About this game

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets follows Harry’s second year at Hogwarts after the ancient Chamber of Secrets is opened and a hidden threat begins attacking students. The game combines action-adventure exploration with role-playing elements and an isometric perspective.

Players navigate large mazes, battle monsters, solve puzzles, operate switches, and unlock doors using six spells. Stealth is also important: Harry can move carefully and hide behind curtains to avoid teachers and prefects. Being caught sends him out to try again and may cost house points.

Collectibles are scattered throughout visible and hidden areas. Famous Wizard card sets unlock bonuses, Every Flavour Beans provide passwords for school shortcuts, and Chocolate Frogs increase Harry’s maximum stamina. Quidditch returns with three-dimensional gameplay viewed from behind the player.

Released on November 14, 2002, the game was developed by Argonaut Games, Eurocom, and Griptonite Games and published by Electronic Arts. Listed platforms include Microsoft Xbox, Game Boy Advance, Game Boy Color, Nintendo GameCube, PlayStation, and PlayStation 2.
