Action-adventure game based on the fourth Harry Potter film
The briefing
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire is a 2005 action-adventure game based on the film adaptation of J. K. Rowling’s fourth Harry Potter novel. It follows Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, and Ron Weasley through a more action-oriented adventure than earlier games in the series.
The game introduces a spell-casting system built around teamwork, allowing players to combine magic for more powerful effects. Players can also capture moving beans with Accio and improve their abilities using collector, creature, and character cards. Cooperative play lets friends join the adventure and combine their spells.
Progression is divided into several non-consecutive levels. Some levels are initially locked and require enough Triwizard Shields to unlock. Unlike previous installments, the game does not include an RPG-style iteration or as much freedom to explore Hogwarts and its grounds. It was released for Nintendo DS, Game Boy Advance, GameCube, Windows PC, PlayStation 2, PSP, and Xbox.
