Heated Barrel

Heated Barrel is a Western-themed side-scrolling shoot ’em up for up to four players. Choose from four characters: Howdy Pardner with a shotgun, Chi Chi Gringo with boomerangs, Little Plum with throwing axes, or Billy Six Guns with a revolver.

Fight cowboys, Indians, and ghosts across towns, deserts, and rivers while shooting in all directions. Power-ups include stronger bullets, a double-star item that grants a second weapon, extra lives, and a barrel that destroys nearby enemies while briefly making the character invincible.

Some stages feature large mid-bosses, and every level ends with a boss battle. The game was released in 1991 for Arcade and Final Burn Alpha Neo.
