About this game
Heavenly Guardian is an arcade shooter developed and published by Starfish SD. It originated as a planned PlayStation 2 sequel to Taito’s Kiki KaiKai series, known outside Japan as Pocky & Rocky, under the title Kiki KaiKai 2.
After Starfish lost the Kiki KaiKai license, the project was canceled. It later resurfaced on Wii as Kiki Kai World, a spiritual successor with a mostly similar design and a blue recoloring of the main character’s miko outfit.
