Heavy Nova

Heavy Nova combines two alternating styles of action. In the platform sections, players move through hostile environments filled with enemies, bombs, and traps, initially traveling horizontally before later stages add vertical flick-scrolling. Speed and remaining energy contribute to the score, while flying and kicking help navigate the hazards.

After each section, the game shifts to one-on-one combat in a Street Fighter 2-style format. Early opponents have less energy than the player, and additional attacking moves are awarded as progress is made.
