The briefing

About this game

In Highnoon, the sheriff must protect the town from outlaws threatening Saucy Sue's Saloon and the local bank. Players use the sheriff's gun to shoot in horizontal, vertical, or diagonal directions.

The game features five waves, with tougher outlaws introduced in later stages. Enemies may ride horses, throw sticks of dynamite, or hide behind windows. In the fifth wave, the sheriff confronts outlaws outside the cave where they emerge. Waves one through four also feature the undertaker from Rig + Mortis Undertakers collecting defeated outlaws.

Each wave concludes with a bonus duel, requiring the sheriff to draw and fire before the opposing outlaw. Released on October 5, 1984, Highnoon was developed by Steve Wiggins and published by Ocean Software for Commodore 64 and Commodore C64/128/MAX.
