In Hocus Pocus, a young magician apprentice journeys through the land of Lattice to gather magical crystals for the wizard chief Terexin. Completing the quest is essential to achieving his ambitions of joining the Council of Wizards and marrying his sweetheart, Popopa.

Players run, jump, and climb through dangerous levels filled with different types of monsters. Along the way, magical potions can restore health or provide special abilities, including a super-jump for reaching new areas and a laser shot for stronger attacks.
