A turn-based business simulation about competing software companies
The briefing
In the Chips is a turn-based business simulation in which you manage a Silicon Valley software company starting with $100,000 in cash. Your objective is to grow your share of the computer software market while competing against a computer-controlled or human-operated rival.
Each turn represents a fiscal quarter. Set research and development budgets for up to five potential products, determine stock levels, adjust retail prices, and fund advertising. Quarterly financial reports show the results of your decisions, helping you balance supply and demand and respond to your opponent's strategy.
The game length can be adjusted by quarter count, and Monopoly mode challenges both companies to compete for control of the market by setting prices below cost.
