About this game

Indy 500 is a top-down racing game for the Atari 2600, developed and published by Atari. It includes several tracks and two difficulty levels.

Race Modes

  • In the one-player mode, complete as many laps as possible within 60 seconds.
  • In the two-player mode, the first player to complete 25 laps wins.

Game Variations

  • Ice Race: Race on an icy track where sliding makes steering more difficult.
  • Tag: One player is “it” and must tag the other player. Players earn a point for each second they avoid being tagged.
  • Crash 'n Score: Crash into targets that appear on the track. The first player to hit each target earns a point before a new target appears elsewhere.
