Jawbreaker

Jawbreaker is an action arcade game programmed by John Harris and associated with On-Line Systems. It was released for the Atari 8-bit family and became a major seller, receiving strong reviews.

The game also appeared on Apple II and Atari 2600. Due to the Atari 2600's technical limitations, that version differs substantially from the Atari 8-bit release.

Jawbreaker was among the On-Line games that Atari challenged over similarities to Pac-Man. The game's creation, along with Harris's Atari 8-bit implementation of Frogger, is discussed in Steven Levy's 1984 book Hackers.
