Lancaster

Lancaster is an arcade shooter and Will Harvey’s first game. Released for the Apple II on August 19, 1983, it places the player in control of a starship on a static screen.

Mustached faces fly above the ship while blowing up balloons that bounce from colored bricks below. The player must shoot the faces and balloons: balloons remove bricks of the same color, while sufficiently damaged balloons hatch into three more faces. Clearing the screen advances to the next level, and high scores are recorded in a top-eight table.
