About this game

Laser Blast is an arcade shooter for the Atari 2600, developed and published by Activision in 1981.

Players control a fleet of flying saucers, operating one saucer at a time, and must destroy three mobile laser bases on the planet surface. Enemy bases are protected by an invisible force field and can fire continuous laser beams in defense. If a saucer is hit, the player can direct its falling trajectory and potentially destroy a base on impact.

Each wave increases the bases’ movement and targeting speed while strengthening the force field and reducing the available maneuvering space. Players earn points for destroyed bases, with wave-based scoring increasing to a maximum of 90 points per base. An extra saucer is awarded for every 1,000 points, with a reserve limit of six.
