Metro 2039 is a first-person shooter adventure set in the tunnels and ruins of post-apocalyptic Moscow. Inspired by Dmitry Glukhovsky’s Metro book trilogy, it follows a conflict over the future of the Metro and the dangerous world above.
Story
In 2039, survivors of nuclear war have spent a quarter century living beneath poisoned Moscow. They are now united under Hunter, a fanatical Spartan whose Novoreich regime maintains control through fear and propaganda while preparing for a new war on the surface.
Beyond the city, the reclusive Stranger is driven from exile by violent waking nightmares and returns to the shattered ruins of Moscow—and the Metro he once swore never to revisit.
Gameplay
The single-player campaign combines exploration, survival, combat, and stealth in a deadly, atmospheric setting.
