Microsoft announces the addition of Control Ultimate Edition to Xbox Game Pass with exclusive series upgrades and DLC expansions.

Control Ultimate Edition Arrives on Xbox Game Pass

In a recent update from Microsoft, Xbox Game Pass subscribers received exciting news: the service's lineup is expanding with the addition of six new games. Among the highlights is Remedy Entertainment's critically acclaimed action-adventure game, Control Ultimate Edition. This isn't the first time Control has been available on Game Pass, but the Ultimate Edition promises a more comprehensive and immersive experience with several bonus features.

Control has captivated gamers with its eerie atmosphere, engaging narrative, and unique gameplay mechanics. It centers around the Federal Bureau of Control (FBC), a secretive agency investigating paranormal phenomena. Players take on the role of Jesse Faden, the bureau's new director, as she searches for answers about her past within the shifting walls of the FBC headquarters, the Oldest House. With supernatural abilities and a transforming service weapon at her disposal, Jesse must navigate a dynamic, ever-changing environment to thwart the otherworldly threat known as the Hiss.

What sets the Ultimate Edition apart is its inclusion of all previously released content and enhancements tailored for the latest generation of consoles. It features the base game, along with two significant DLC expansions: The Foundation and AWE. Both expansions dive deeper into the game's mysterious world, offering new storylines, missions, and powers. The Foundation delves into the history of the Oldest House and its enigmatic bedrock, while AWE links Control to another of Remedy's beloved games, Alan Wake, expanding the narrative universe in intriguing ways.

Xbox Series X|S players can look forward to visual and performance upgrades in Control Ultimate Edition. The Xbox Series X version boasts two distinct modes: a quality mode that enables ray tracing at 1440p resolution and 30 frames per second (FPS), and a high-performance mode that delivers smooth 60 FPS gameplay at the same resolution without ray tracing. Meanwhile, the Xbox Series S does not include the quality mode but offers a consistent 60 FPS performance at 900p resolution. These enhancements highlight the game's stunning architectural design and kinetic combat while providing a fluid experience that matches the console's capabilities.
