A polygon-based 3D boxing game with strategic fights and customizable boxer attributes.
4-D Boxing is a polygon-based 3D boxing game from Distinctive Software, published by Mindscape in June 1991. It features motion-captured animation and opponents with distinct fighting styles, including aggressive attackers and counter-punchers.
Before each fight, players can improve their boxer’s speed, power, or stamina. Matches support varied tactics such as all-out attacks, counter-attacks, and dodging, with outcomes that can include decisions, draws, and disqualifications.
Version 2.0 followed in February 1992 with different music and introductions, added pupils to the boxers’ eyes, and served as the basis for the FM Towns Marty release, which included higher-quality sound.
Platforms: Amiga, DOS, FM Towns, Legacy Computer, Mac, MS-DOS, PC-9800 Series.
