About this game

Ace Combat: Joint Assault moves the series into real-world locations including London, Tokyo, and San Francisco while retaining fictional threats such as massive flying fortresses. Players take the role of a young pilot working with Martinez Security against the Valahia.

Gameplay

Players control combat aircraft from either a third-person or cockpit perspective, engaging enemy planes and other large airborne targets while avoiding incoming missiles. Missions include enemy-elimination objectives and boss encounters. Successful missions award money that can be used to unlock additional aircraft and upgrades.

  • Aircraft are based on licensed real-world models with different strengths and weaknesses.
  • Fighter aircraft are suited to aerial combat, while bombers are effective against ground targets.
  • A branching mission structure presents choices between different operations.
  • The enhanced combat view provides a closer visual look at distant enemies.

Multiplayer

The full campaign can be played cooperatively with other players. In co-op, teams can be divided across the branching missions, with up to four players participating. Other multiplayer modes support up to eight players.

Released for PlayStation Portable in 2010, the game was developed by Project Aces and published by Namco Bandai Partners.
