A Japanese-inspired Amiga shoot-'em-up starring a vengeful wasp

The briefing

About this game

Apidya is a side-on scrolling shoot-'em-up released in 1991 for Amiga and Commodore Amiga. Developed by Kaiko and published by Play Byte, it follows a man transformed into a wasp who seeks revenge after the death of his girlfriend, Yuri, at the hands of the evil Hexaae.

The action takes place across unusual insect-themed environments, including a garden filled with enemy insects and a sub-level inside the intestines of a rotting rat. Although designed with a Japanese-inspired visual style, Apidya was developed in Germany.
