About this game

Assault Rigs is an action shooter set in a future where violent virtual tank contests have replaced physical sports. Players control a heavily armed Rig in maze-like arenas filled with jumps, elevators, and movable blocks.

The goal is combat rather than racing. Players can collect power-ups to defeat rival Rigs and gather Gems to progress through more than 40 levels. Weapons include mini guns, laser cannons, heat-seeking missiles, bouncing and shattering ammunition, and remotely controlled fly-by-wire missiles. Shields and turrets add further defensive and offensive options.

Its wire-framed virtual presentation and atmosphere draw inspiration from Tron. Assault Rigs was released in 1996 for DOS, PlayStation, Sega Saturn, and Sony Playstation.
