Anime-style aerial fighting in a magical kingdom

The briefing

About this game

Astra SuperStars is an anime-style one-on-one 2D fighting game set in a magical kingdom. Its champions compete in a series of three-round fights for the chance to challenge the evil Satan Volte and end his reign of terror.

Because the fighters use magical abilities, battles take place in mid-air. Players can fly around the arena while using basic attacks, special moves triggered by specific controller motions, and powerful super attacks.

Features

  • One-on-one 2D fighting
  • Mid-air battles with free movement around the arena
  • Basic attacks, motion-triggered special moves, and super attacks
  • Three-round fights

Developed and published by Sunsoft, Astra SuperStars was released in 1997 for Arcade, Sega Saturn, and Sega ST-V.
