Action-adventure maze exploration with traps, creatures, and a valuable Jade Idol

The briefing

About this game

In Aztec, the hero must recover a valuable Jade Idol from a dangerous maze using a pistol and a limited supply of dynamite. Exploration involves searching boxes and trash piles for useful items such as a machete, ammunition, health potions, and additional explosives.

The maze is filled with snakes, panthers, natives, unusual traps, and rooms where walls or ceilings close in. Eight skill levels adjust the challenge, with creatures becoming more numerous and faster at higher difficulties. The Idol's value declines as the game progresses, rewarding a swift recovery.

After dying, players can restart using the maze where they were defeated, preserving the progress of their exploration.
