Buck Rogers: Countdown to Doomsday

In the 25th Century, Buck Rogers awakens from centuries of cryogenic sleep to find Earth exploited by the interstellar alliance RAM. He joins the New Earth Organization (NEO), a resistance movement fighting for the freedom of his home planet.

Players create a party of six recruits from five classes—Rocketjock, Warrior, Medic, Rogue, and Engineer—and six races: Human, Desert Runner, Tinker, Venusian, Martian, and Mercurian.

Gameplay

• Navigate the Solar System from a top-down space map and select planets to visit.
• Defend against hostile ships during space travel.
• Explore planetary overworld maps and individual locations in first-person pseudo-3D.
• Fight turn-based battles from an isometric perspective, moving character icons across the battlefield.

The game was released in 1989 for Amiga, Commodore C64/128/MAX, DOS, MS-DOS, Sega Genesis, and Sega Mega Drive/Genesis. It was developed by Strategic Simulations and published by Electronic Arts and Strategic Simulations.
