Burai: Hachigyoku no Yuushi Densetsu

In the world of Kypros, humans, intelligent reptiles, dog-like wosshus, and other races live alongside many gods. When the demon lord Bido seeks to resurrect Daar, the sealed god of darkness, an ancient prophecy points to eight heroes who bear magical pearls.

Players follow introductory stories for heroes including the pirate Zan Hayate, the wosshu fighter Gonza, his sister Maimai, and the sorceress Lilian Lancelot. The party travels across a world map, visiting towns and dungeons while facing randomly appearing enemies in first-person, turn-based battles. Each hero has unique battle techniques.

The console versions feature new cutscenes, dialogue, and a revised battle interface compared with the computer versions. Their chapters are also linear, beginning with Gonza and Maimai rather than allowing the player to choose any of the eight heroes.
