Cavelord

Cavelord is a 2D side-scrolling shooter in which the hero must explore caves and recover three pieces of a crown for the king. The game features a large scrolling playfield with flowing water, swaying vines, falling stones, explosions, lightning strikes, and dangerous flying creatures.

The player controls Telos, who rides a winged horse and carries a lance. Two recurring birds continually appear to harass the player, while hidden triggers can activate additional hazards. Although the adventure is short, it is known for its high difficulty.

Three difficulty levels adjust the frequency of explosions and lightning, along with the speed and spawning rate of the birds. Cavelord was developed by Peter Finzel and published by Ariolasoft for Atari 8-bit computers, including the Atari 800.
