About this game

Champion Boxing is a boxing-focused sports and fighting game developed and published by Sega. Originally released for the Sega SG-1000, it was later ported to arcades in Japan and Europe.

The game is notable as the debut creation of Sega-AM2 founder and leader Yu Suzuki, as well as AM7's Rieko Kodama.

A successor, Champion Pro Wrestling, followed in 1985. Despite its connection to Champion Boxing, it shifted from boxing to professional wrestling and was released for arcades before being ported to the SG-1000 and MSX.
