Chanbara

Chanbara is a 2D arcade fighting game developed and published by Data East. You play as a student samurai defending a dojo temple from waves of enemies.

The game uses separate controls for movement and katana attacks. In the first level, enemies approach from two floors, requiring you to switch between them to avoid attacks from above. A single hit is fatal, and defeat can occur in several gruesome ways.
