In Cold War, American journalist Matthew Carter is framed as a CIA assassin after uncovering an anti-perestroika KGB conspiracy in 1986 Russia. Trapped in Lubyanka prison, he must escape alongside Grushkov, the head of the Presidential Guard, while working to expose the conspirators and prove their innocence.
