About this game

Dead or Alive is an action shooter set in Dodge City, where bandits have overrun the town and are attempting to escape with their loot. Playing as the sheriff, you must stop them in gameplay resembling Commando, but without its military setting.

Ammunition is limited, though it can be replenished by walking over fallen soldiers. You must also monitor your thirst and reach the hotel at the top of the screen before it runs out. A horse regularly crosses the screen and must be avoided.

The Sinclair ZX Spectrum version also includes A-Maze, a bonus maze-based game. Dead or Alive was released in 1986 for the Acorn Electron, Amstrad CPC, BBC Microcomputer System, Commodore C64/128/MAX, and Sinclair ZX Spectrum.
