About this game

Deep Dungeon III: Yuushi heno Tabi is the third entry in the Deep Dungeon series and the first released for the Family Computer. The adventure expands beyond a single dungeon, giving players a world with multiple towns and dungeons to explore.

Party and Progression

Players can form a party with the hero and up to three companions, choosing a ranger, magician, or priest for each character. Companions may be dismissed, but replacements are only available by meeting pre-created playable characters in dungeons. The game ends when the protagonist, the swordsman, is defeated.

The game retains adjustable level-up statistics from the first title. Random encounters are removed when the party is significantly more experienced than the current area requires.

Distinctive Mechanics

Characters may occasionally fumble and remove their equipped weapon, costing a turn; re-arming also consumes a turn. Deep Dungeon III is the only game in the series to award Gold for defeating enemies.
