The briefing
Descent II is a 1996 first-person shooter developed by Parallax Software and published by Interplay. As the sequel to Descent, it places the player in control of a flying ship rather than a conventional on-foot character.
The game uses six degrees of freedom, allowing the ship to move in any direction within its 3D environments. Its genres include flight simulator, shooter, simulator, and vehicle simulation.
Descent 3 followed in 1999.
