About this game

HIND: The Russian Combat Helicopter Simulation puts players in control of the Soviet Mi-24 Hind, a heavily armored helicopter designed for a different style of combat than the faster Apache featured in its predecessor.

Combat and Flight

The simulation offers realistic or more arcade-oriented control options, along with settings such as unlimited ammunition and an indestructible helicopter. Players can switch between pilot, gunner, and external viewpoints. The Hind can withstand substantial machine-gun and cannon fire, but avoiding missiles remains a key part of survival.

Campaigns and Missions

Three campaigns cover Kazakhstan, Afghanistan, and Korea. Missions include destroying fixed targets, deploying or evacuating troops, attacking enemy positions, and illuminating targets for MiG strikes. Each campaign contains 10 scenarios, supported by training missions.

Planning and Conditions

Day, night, and fog missions place different demands on navigation. Flight plans can be edited with additional waypoints or adjusted routes around and over mountainous terrain, making preparation important before takeoff.

Multiplayer

Netplay is included, with support for head-to-head play between HIND and Apache owners.
