A maze-driven top-down shooter RPG on the Sharp X68000
The briefing
Die Bahnwelt is a top-down shooter with role-playing elements, released for the Sharp X68000 on October 30, 1992. Developed and published by Glodia, it follows treasure hunter Connor Macguire and his assistant Rania as they explore the mysterious world of Vereator in search of the energy source known as Verbias.
Connor moves through maze-like environments while fighting frequently respawning robotic enemies with eight-direction shooting. A computer-controlled companion joins battles, and the player can assign general tactics through conversation. Each character can carry up to four weapons, switch between them at any time, and use energy ammunition found in treasure chests or dropped by enemies.
Neither character uses healing items; instead, both continuously regenerate health. The game also allows saving at any time.
