Dun Darach

Dun Darach is an arcade adventure set in a mysterious, timeless city from Celtic legend. After the sorceress Skar abducts Loeg the charioteer, Cuchulainn must find Dun Darach and rescue him.

Exploration combines object collecting, lateral-thinking puzzles, wordplay, and interactions with characters wandering through the city. Residents may offer hints, rob Cuchulainn, or confiscate stolen goods. The city also includes shops where goods can be bought, stolen, and sold, along with the Iomain Ludum casino and a bank offering daily compound interest.

Dun Darach is divided into several quarters, with the time of day shown through wall torches and character greetings. Players rotate the view with the keyboard before moving through the streets, seeing one side at a time. The game supports saving to cassette tape, useful during its lengthy adventure.
