The briefing

About this game

Fight Night 2004 is a boxing sports game from Electronic Arts and the first entry in the Fight Night series, replacing the Knockout Kings line. Players can create a boxer and pursue a career from rundown gyms toward the undisputed championship.

Gameplay

Career mode combines bouts with training activities that improve different attributes. Players can use the punching bag to develop power and speed, spar to improve stamina and agility, attack a dummy to build chin and body, or work the mitts to improve heart and cut.

The Total Control system uses both analog sticks: the right stick controls punches, while the left handles movement and defense.

Modes and Features

  • Custom boxer creation and career progression
  • Unlockable clothing, entrance music, and ring companions earned through career mode
  • Standard boxing modes alongside career mode
  • PlayStation 2 online play through EA Sports' online network
  • EA Sports Bio, which tracks performance across EA Sports games and contributes to Gamer Level rewards

Fight Night 2004 was released for Microsoft Xbox and PlayStation 2.
