The briefing

About this game

Fighter Wing is a flight simulator for DOS and MS-DOS that features a wide range of flyable aircraft rather than focusing on one plane type. Players can take part on either the NATO or Soviet side across fictional scenarios, with no campaign mode.

Aircraft

The NATO selection includes the F-4, F-15, F-16, F-18, and F-117. Soviet forces offer the MiG-21, MiG-23, MiG-29, MiG-31, and Su-27.

Presentation and Multiplayer

The game uses fully 3D graphics with Gouraud-shaded polygonal aircraft, insignias, clouds, smoke effects, and terrain based on actual map layouts. Multiplayer supports up to 16 players. The game was released in floppy and CD formats, with the CD version adding FMV sequences.
