About this game

G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra is an action shooter based on the 2009 film, but it follows a different storyline. Players join an elite group of soldiers battling Cobra Commander and attempting to stop Cobra from taking over the world.

The game uses a behind-the-back perspective and features weapons such as machine guns and rocket launchers. Players can also activate the Delta 6 Accelerator Suit, which provides temporary invulnerability. Missions include battles against enemy soldiers, tanks, jet fighters, and end-of-level bosses, with vehicles available throughout the stages.

Playable Joes and Co-op

Players can choose from 12 different Joes. Additional characters are unlocked by completing missions, and each has strengths based on their role: Commandos excel at close range, Heavy Weapons characters specialize in long-distance attacks, and Soldiers provide a balance of both styles.

A two-player drop-in/drop-out co-op mode allows another player to join during a game. When a human teammate is not present, computer-controlled AI takes over the second soldier.
