The briefing

About this game

Gandalf the Sorcerer is a 1983 action shooter in which Gandalf must defend his castle and treasure from Lizardmen advancing from the woods.

From the castle walls, aim a crosshair and blast enemies with limited fire. Defeated Lizardmen leave gold coins, while those that reach the door attempt to break in and capture the apprentice. If an apprentice is taken outside, the game switches to an isometric view where Gandalf must defeat the Lizardman and guide the apprentice back to the castle.

Gandalf can replenish his fire by climbing to the top of a tower. Lizardmen attack with fire, and losing three apprentices or being hit ends the game.
