About this game

Grandia II is a 3D role-playing game developed by Game Arts and published by Ubisoft. Players control Ryudo while exploring towns and dungeons, interacting with townspeople and objects, and searching for shops and conversation.

Most exploration uses a top-down perspective, while battles shift to a third-person view. Dungeons are maze-like areas populated by visible monsters, and touching an enemy triggers combat. Approaching undetected gives the party the initiative, while being noticed results in a normal battle; if an enemy reaches a party member other than Ryudo, the party loses initiative.

The game was released on December 6, 2000, for Dreamcast, PC (Microsoft Windows), PlayStation 2, and PlayStation 3.
