Alone in the Dark

Alone in the Dark is an action-adventure survival horror game set in Derceto, a three-floor Louisiana mansion reputed to be haunted. After Jeremy Hartwood’s suicide, you investigate the suspicious death as either private investigator Edward Carnby or Jeremy’s niece, Emily Hartwood.

The mansion is filled with monsters including warped rats, zombies, and giant worms. Explore fixed-viewpoint scenes with painted 2D backgrounds and 3D characters, items, and enemies. Solving puzzles usually involves finding objects and using them in the correct locations, while books and documents provide additional reading.

Weapons and healing items aid your escape, but ammunition is limited. Some creatures can be defeated with weapons, while others require a different approach or cannot be killed.
