About this game

D-Day depicts the Allied assault on Axis-held France during World War II and Operation Overlord. Players take the role of an Allied commander while optionally participating directly in a range of military operations.

Gameplay

  • Pilot a plane to bomb strategically important locations.
  • Land in hostile territory as a paratrooper.
  • Break through enemy lines as an infantry soldier.
  • Drive a tank and fight enemy forces in a French village.

The missions use different perspectives and styles, including first- and third-person simulator-like sequences, isometric infantry gameplay, and platform-based paratrooper action. Operations can be played individually, combined into a real-time Overlord campaign, or managed strategically on a map. Options allow players to disable selected or all direct-action missions and adjust enemy behavior. Progress can be saved for later continuation.
