About this game

Das Boot: German U-Boat Simulation is a World War II submarine simulation based on the classic German film. Released in 1990, it combines real-time submarine operations with strategy and vehicle-simulation elements.

The game includes eight training modes, divided between activities above and below the surface. Its six scenarios follow the film’s plot, covering missions from fjord patrols to operations in the North Atlantic, Gibraltar, and the Mediterranean.

Players control the submarine using the mouse and keyboard. While there are many commands to learn, the game remains accessible without mastering every key. Difficulty can be adjusted through settings such as torpedo reliability, spare-part availability, and repair conditions.

The Amiga version supports faster 020-and-later processors and VGA monitors. The game is also listed for DOS and PC (Microsoft Windows).
