An isometric action-adventure in the Pendragon series
The briefing
Entombed is the second instalment in Ultimate Play the Game’s Pendragon series and a sequel to The Staff of Karnath. Released for the Commodore 64, it follows aristocratic adventurer Sir Arthur Pendragon as he attempts to escape an ancient Egyptian tomb before all the oxygen runs out.
The game uses an isometric presentation and was created and designed by brothers Dave and Bob Thomas. Its development took longer than its predecessor because the game engine had to be re-programmed. Critics responded positively at release, particularly praising its playability and graphics. Entombed was followed later in the year by Blackwyche.
