The briefing

About this game

Galerians is an action-adventure horror game developed by Polygon Magic and published by Crave Entertainment. Released for PlayStation on August 26, 1999, it follows Rion, a young man who awakens in a hospital with no memory of his identity.

After hearing a girl’s voice asking him to save her, Rion discovers that he possesses powerful psychic abilities. His search for answers leads to the G Project, a human experiment focused on unlocking the hidden potential of the mind.

Gameplay

The game combines a 3D character model with pre-rendered backgrounds and character-related controls similar to those in Alone in the Dark. Players collect items to open new areas and progress through the story.

  • Rion cannot use conventional weapons.
  • Psychic powers are his primary means of fighting enemies.
  • His powers are replenished by regularly taking drugs.
  • A special meter causes Rion to enter an uncontrollable rage when it becomes full.
