Pokémon Reforged Bronze has released its second demo, giving fans of the former Roblox adventure Pokémon Brick Bronze another chance to journey through the Roria region in a distinctly Game Boy Advance-inspired role-playing format. The new build significantly expands the opening experience, most notably by offering every starter Pokémon from the first nine generations represented in the game's selection: 27 choices in total.

Built with Pokémon Essentials 21.1 and RPG Maker XP, Pokémon Reforged Bronze is a fan-made project by Aurum Blaze. It was previously known as Pokémon Rusted Bronze, and its premise is rooted in reviving the storyline and setting that players may remember from Pokémon Brick Bronze. That earlier Roblox fan game was removed after attracting the attention of The Pokémon Company, but its world has remained memorable for a sizeable community. Reforged Bronze is not an official Pokémon release, but it is clearly designed as a new interpretation of that familiar journey rather than a simple recreation.

The second demo lets players experience a meaningful stretch of its campaign, reaching as far as the fourth Gym in Anthian City. It also includes several systems and optional bonuses intended to show where the project is headed beyond the current playable endpoint.

All nine generations are represented in the starter selection

The headline addition is difficult to miss: players can begin with a starter from Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, Unova, Kalos, Alola, Galar, or Paldea. Each generation contributes its traditional three first-partner Pokémon, making for 27 possibilities before the adventure properly begins.

That means familiar choices such as Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle are joined by partners from much later eras of the series. The expanded choice gives players room to approach Roria with a favourite from virtually any mainline generation, whether they prefer one of the original starters, a Hoenn companion, a Kalos pick, or a Paldean partner.

Starter selection has always been one of the most defining early decisions in Pokémon-style RPGs. Usually, it asks a player to pick between three options built around Grass, Fire, and Water. A pool of 27 changes that dynamic substantially. Rather than only considering the standard type triangle, players can choose based on preferred designs, movepools, evolutionary lines, nostalgia, or the generation that first brought them into the franchise.

It is also an immediate indication of the fan project's scope. Bringing together starter lines from nine generations gives the demo a broader cross-generational identity, while retaining the straightforward early-game structure expected from a traditional monster-collecting RPG.

Roria returns in a GBA-style remake

Roria is once again the setting for the adventure. The region was central to Pokémon Brick Bronze, and Reforged Bronze revisits it with a different environment for players to explore on the way to its Gyms. The visual direction leans toward the look and feel of Game Boy Advance-era Pokémon games, framing the story within a format that should feel recognisable to players who spent time with the handheld entries of the 2000s.

The use of RPG Maker XP and Pokémon Essentials also places the game within a long-running PC fan-game tradition. Those tools have supported many independent Pokémon-inspired projects over the years, often allowing creators to combine familiar turn-based battling and creature collecting with custom regions, stories, maps, and mechanics. In this case, the intent is to preserve a well-known fan-created setting while reworking it for a more classically styled RPG presentation.

For returning Brick Bronze players, the draw is likely the opportunity to revisit Roria and its story beats in another form. For newcomers, the demo presents the region as a standalone journey with a wide starter roster and an old-school visual approach. The project does not require knowledge of the earlier Roblox game to communicate its central setup: choose a partner, travel across a new region, battle trainers, explore locations, and take on Pokémon Gyms.

Random battles are replaced by overworld encounters

One of the demo's more notable gameplay changes is its approach to wild Pokémon. Random encounters have been removed. Instead, Pokémon appear in the world for players to see and approach, a structure comparable to the visible overworld encounters used in Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield.

This is a major quality-of-life choice for players who prefer more control over when battles begin. Traditional random encounters can make caves, grass routes, and long backtracking sessions unpredictable, sometimes interrupting travel repeatedly. With visible encounters, players can steer around creatures they do not want to battle, deliberately seek out those they do, or simply get a clearer sense of what inhabits each route.

Overworld Pokémon can also make exploration feel more active. Rather than walking through tall grass and waiting for a transition, players can scan the environment and choose their targets. In a game built around a recreated region, that potentially gives individual areas more character, especially if certain Pokémon are positioned to encourage detours or draw attention to different parts of a map.

The demo's encounter design may evolve as development continues, but the second demo establishes a clear direction: Reforged Bronze is taking inspiration from multiple eras of Pokémon design rather than limiting itself strictly to the conventions of a GBA-era game.

Data-type Pokémon, Virus Pokémon, and Dataspace challenges

Pokémon Reforged Bronze also introduces concepts beyond the standard elemental type system. The game includes Data-type Pokémon as well as Virus Pokémon, adding custom ideas to its version of the Pokémon formula. These elements distinguish the project from a straightforward retelling and give the Roria setting mechanics that are specifically tied to this fan-game continuity.

Players can encounter Dataspace challenges in two locations included in the demo: Silvent City and Lagoona Lake. The available details establish these as dedicated activities connected to the game's Data-related concepts, though the full extent of their role in the wider adventure is left for players to discover as they progress.

Custom types and unusual Pokémon categories are common ways for fan projects to establish their own identity. They can create new tactical considerations, reshape what players expect from familiar creatures, and provide a sense that a region has its own lore rather than simply borrowing the structure of an official game. For Reforged Bronze, the Data and Virus concepts appear to be an important part of how it separates itself from both the original Brick Bronze and the mainline Pokémon adventures that inspired its presentation.

The demo reaches the fourth Gym, with battles beyond its endpoint

There is a substantial amount of progress available in the current build. The main demo content extends through the fourth Gym, located in Anthian City. Four Gym milestones should provide enough room for players to form a team, test their chosen starter's development, and engage with Roria's early and mid-game areas rather than only sampling an introductory route.

For a demo, reaching a fourth Gym is a meaningful stopping point. It gives developers the chance to present the rhythm of the campaign: travelling between towns, building a party, facing local trainers, completing challenges, and preparing for the next leader battle. It also lets players see whether the project's remake approach, overworld encounter system, and custom mechanics fit the kind of Pokémon experience they want.

There are also three post-demo battles to challenge after reaching the current end of the main playable section. These fights offer a preview of material planned beyond Anthian City and provide extra content for players who want to push past the formal demo boundary. Their inclusion suggests that the developers want the build to function as more than an isolated slice, giving dedicated players a reason to continue experimenting with their teams after the fourth Gym.

A free Shiny Charm and a special event Pokémon await

Players who begin the demo can claim a free Shiny Charm through their in-game Home PC. The Shiny Charm is a familiar name to longtime Pokémon fans, generally associated with improving the chances of finding differently coloured Shiny Pokémon. Its presence here should be particularly welcome for collectors who want to spend time searching for rare variants while exploring the available routes.

The demo additionally contains a special event Pokémon that can be obtained. Details on the specific Pokémon are not outlined, leaving some discovery for those who download the game and investigate its available content for themselves.

Between the broad starter list, visible wild encounters, optional Dataspace material, four Gyms' worth of progression, post-demo fights, the Shiny Charm, and an event Pokémon, the second demo aims to offer more than a brief technical preview. It is a playable look at the direction of Pokémon Reforged Bronze and a return trip to a region that has retained a following since its Roblox origins.

Players interested in trying Pokémon Reforged Bronze can find the demo through Eevee Expo. As with many fan-made projects based on established properties, its future availability and development can be subject to change. For now, the second demo offers the most extensive public opportunity yet to see how Roria has been rebuilt in its new GBA-style form.
