Twin Swans has unveiled the extensive voice cast behind Hunter's Moon, its upcoming first-person historical narrative folk-horror game. The studio has assembled 48 performers to portray more than 100 characters in a fully voice-acted story, placing spoken performances at the centre of a night of fear, suspicion and survival.

Hunter's Moon launches exclusively for PlayStation 5 on October 26, 2026. Its story follows Lilith Thorne, a woman accused of witchcraft who must evade the Witchfinder General over the course of a single fateful night. As Lilith moves through an Early Modern English village, players will need to avoid capture, listen in on local people and uncover stories that may offer a way out.

The setup draws directly from the grim social pressures surrounding historical English witch hunts, while embracing the unsettling atmosphere associated with folk-horror. Rather than positioning witchcraft simply as spectacle or supernatural power, the game's premise focuses on the devastating human consequences of accusation. Lilith is not confronting an abstract monster; she is facing a community whose beliefs, fears and relationships can be turned against her.

Hannah Morley and Gregg Lowe lead the cast

Hannah Morley, known for Apartment 7A, voices protagonist Lilith Thorne. Gregg Lowe, whose credits include Crimson Desert, Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles and television drama Grantchester, takes the role of the Witchfinder General pursuing her.

They are joined by Anthony Howell as Anthony Talbot and Joe Pitts as John Purdy. Howell's previous work includes 007 First Light, Silent Hill: Townfall and Foyle's War, while Pitts has appeared in Lies of P and Dragon Quest VII Reimagined.

For a game built around moving through a village and learning from the people within it, the size of the ensemble is significant. The cast structure suggests that the village will not be a backdrop filled with anonymous voices, but a dense network of individuals. Many performers are credited with multiple named roles as well as additional parts, allowing the game to populate its setting with families, neighbours, religious figures, travellers and other townspeople.

"The witch is an eternally popular mythical figure, and in our contemporary media landscape, we often forget where these stories come from," writer and director Alicia Contestabile said. "I wanted to create an interactive theatre, set in this era of magical thinking, and immerse the player in the perspective of an accused woman."

Contestabile said the game explores how shared beliefs can lead a community to acts of cruelty. The intention is to let players feel the stakes of such accusations when they arise not just from distant authorities, but from family members, friends and neighbours. That perspective makes the title's emphasis on performance especially fitting: every conversation overheard could reveal danger, grief, self-interest or a potential route to survival.

An interactive-theatre approach to folk horror

Hunter's Moon is described as interactive theatre, a phrase that points to a narrative experience where place, character and observation matter as much as direct action. Players will explore an Early Modern village, eavesdrop on its residents and evade witch hunters seeking Lilith. The game's dramatic tension is therefore likely to come from being present in spaces where other people are talking, judging and deciding what they believe.

That approach is a natural match for folk-horror. The genre frequently finds terror in enclosed communities, inherited rituals and the sense that the landscape itself is saturated with old fears. In Hunter's Moon, the immediate threat is social as well as physical. Lilith's escape is shaped by a culture of "magical thinking," in Contestabile's words, where an accusation can become enough to place someone's life at risk.

The title also has an original score from Resina. Music will have an important role in reinforcing the game's single-night structure and historical setting, particularly in a project that leans so strongly into atmosphere and dramatic performance. With an ensemble spread across more than 100 roles, the score and soundscape may be as vital as visuals in helping distinguish a village that is alive with private concerns from one closing in on its target.

A village of families, suspicion and secrets

The credited names reveal several family groups woven through the village: the Towers, Allertons, Blackes, Crosthwaites, Glovers, Carpenters, Goodales, Harsneps, Hodges and others. Whether every connection becomes a key plot thread remains to be seen, but that density suits a game about accusations spreading through a close-knit settlement. A player eavesdropping on one household may gain information that changes the meaning of a conversation heard elsewhere.

It also leaves room for a broad range of perspectives on Lilith's predicament. Some villagers may be frightened believers, others opportunists, and others people caught between sympathy and self-preservation. The presence of figures such as Parson Benedict Whittaker, Mother Sontheil, Alice o' the Woods and the travelling Mummers hints at a setting where religious authority, local folklore and performance traditions all coexist.

Hunter's Moon has not detailed every system or choice players will encounter during Lilith's attempted escape. However, its stated combination of stealthy evasion, exploration and eavesdropping makes clear that listening will be a meaningful part of play rather than merely a delivery mechanism for exposition. For a historical narrative focused on a woman trying to survive an accusation, the ability to hear what a community says when it thinks she is absent could be one of its most powerful ideas.

With its fully voiced village, historical focus and folk-horror framing, Hunter's Moon is shaping up as a narrative-driven PlayStation 5 exclusive that treats the witch-hunt story as a deeply personal human crisis. Players will find out whether Lilith can outlast the Hunter's Moon when the game arrives on October 26, 2026.
