The Witch's Bakery has launched for PC and consoles, inviting players into a hand-drawn vision of Paris where freshly made pastries can do more than satisfy a customer's appetite. Developed by Sunny Lab and published by Silver Lining Interactive, the cozy narrative adventure is available now through Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2.

The game places players in the role of Lunne, a young baker with an unusual gift: she can enter the emotional worlds of the people around her. Her work begins behind the counter of a welcoming bakery, but it quickly extends beyond taking orders and preparing food. Paris is filled with people carrying difficult feelings, and Lunne's magical ability allows her to help them confront the emotions weighing on their hearts.

Physical editions are also on the way for PlayStation 5 and Nintendo platforms. Those versions are scheduled to arrive on 16 October 2026 through Silver Lining Direct and local retailers, priced at £29.99, $34.99 and EUR34.99. Each physical edition includes a Digital Cookbook containing recipes for real-world French baked goods, extending the game's culinary theme beyond the screen.

A Bakery Routine With a Magical Purpose

The Witch's Bakery is built around a repeating daily structure that divides Lunne's life between work, exploration and study. During the daytime, players serve visitors at the bakery. This is the central business-facing part of the experience, where Lunne tends to customers and keeps the shop moving.

Evening takes the story out into Paris. Lunne can explore the city, meet its residents and develop relationships with the people she encounters. These interactions are fundamental to the game's emotional focus, since the customers and characters around Lunne are not simply passing through for a pastry. Each has their own concerns, memories and feelings that may eventually require her help.

At night, Lunne returns to her atelier. This is the time to study recipes and develop her baking abilities, creating a quieter counterpart to the demands of serving people during the day and socialising around the city in the evening. Together, the three phases create a rhythm that fits the game's premise: operate a bakery, get to know a community and prepare for the more fantastical work that lies beneath its warm surface.

Healing Hearts Through Heart Palaces

The magical core of The Witch's Bakery comes from Lunne's ability to access Heart Palaces. These are maze-like realms in which emotions take on a physical form. Rather than treating inner turmoil as an abstract story beat, the game turns it into a place that Lunne can actively navigate.

Inside these spaces, players work to guide emotions back to the heart, helping characters begin to heal. The concept gives the adventure an emotional narrative framework while also providing a distinct fantasy element alongside the bakery management and relationship-building portions. Lunne is not merely listening to someone's troubles; she is stepping into a surreal representation of their emotional state and searching for a route through it.

That approach positions the game as a cozy experience with heavier personal themes beneath its colourful presentation. Baking and customer service offer the comforting everyday layer, while the Heart Palaces give the story room to deal with sadness, conflict and the complexities that its Parisian cast carries with them.

Lunne is joined by Orio, her cat-like partner. Orio can morph, making the companion a notable part of the game's magical identity. The character helps distinguish The Witch's Bakery from a more conventional shop-running game, reinforcing that Lunne's bakery exists in a world where ordinary routines and supernatural possibilities overlap.

Paris, Pastries and Hand-Drawn Art

The Witch's Bakery uses a hand-drawn art style for its version of Paris. The setting is especially fitting for a game focused on baked goods, but the city is not being used only as a scenic culinary backdrop. It is the place where Lunne meets people, builds connections and discovers the emotional problems that lead into the Heart Palace sequences.

The combination of an intimate bakery and a wider city structure suggests a story driven by community. Players will return to familiar work at the shop, then venture outside to learn more about the people whose lives intersect with it. The atelier adds another personal space for Lunne, framing her progress as a blend of professional development and magical discovery.

The game also features an opening song from composer Cécile Corbel, known for her work on The Secret World of Arrietty. Her involvement adds a musical connection to the project's gentle, fantastical tone, pairing with its illustrated visuals and character-led premise.

What the Physical Editions Include

While the digital release is already available across its announced PC and console platforms, collectors and players who prefer boxed releases will have a short wait. The PlayStation 5 and Nintendo physical editions are due two days after the digital launch, on 16 October 2026.

The included Digital Cookbook is designed around actual French baking, rather than being limited to in-game reference material. It contains recipes for real-world French baked goods, giving the physical package an extra that matches the game's central fascination with pastries and the cultural identity of its Paris setting.

  • Digital launch platforms: PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2.
  • Physical edition platforms: PlayStation 5 and Nintendo platforms.
  • Physical release date: 16 October 2026.
  • Physical edition prices: £29.99 / $34.99 / EUR34.99.
  • Included extra: A Digital Cookbook with real-world French baked goods recipes.

Mobile Version Planned for the Future

A mobile edition of The Witch's Bakery is also planned for release through Crunchyroll Game Vault. It has been described as coming soon, although no specific launch date has been announced. That version will eventually bring Lunne's bakery, Paris exploration and Heart Palace adventures to mobile players, but the currently available release is focused on PC and the listed console systems.

For now, The Witch's Bakery arrives as an option for players looking for a narrative-led cozy game with a more fantastical emotional angle than a traditional restaurant or café simulator. Its structure moves between practical tasks, social encounters, skill improvement and magical maze exploration, with each piece feeding into Lunne's wider role in helping the people of Paris.

Whether players are most interested in running a flour-dusted shop, uncovering character stories around the city, or venturing into strange realms shaped by human feeling, Lunne's new bakery is now open on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2.
