Tripwire Presents is expanding its publishing business with a new program intended to give smaller independent developers more help reaching players. The publishing division of Tripwire Interactive announced the initiative on November 4, 2026, positioning it as a flexible support structure for carefully selected games at several different stages of development and release.
The first group contains five PC titles: The Boss Gangster: Criminal Empire from BEF Games, Starforged Legacy from Second Shift Games, Mars Attracts from Outlier Games, One-Eyed Likho from Morteshka and Eslabong from shirowita. The lineup is notably broad, ranging from a criminal-management hybrid and a sci-fi bullet-hell roguelike to Slavic folk horror, a Mars Attacks-themed park sim and a tactical mercenary management game.
Rather than presenting the effort as a one-size-fits-all traditional publishing deal, Tripwire Presents says it aims to provide scaled assistance that fits the needs of smaller teams. Its focus is on games that have already demonstrated their quality and on developers that have done the demanding work of creating and promoting their titles independently.
A Program Built Around Visibility and Lifecycle Support
Discoverability remains one of the most difficult parts of releasing a game on PC. A game can be polished, distinctive and well received by the people who find it, but still struggle to gain traction amid a crowded digital marketplace. Tripwire Presents' new initiative is designed around that problem, offering support intended to help selected projects break through that noise without necessarily taking over the developer's work.

The company plans to draw on two decades of self-publishing and co-publishing experience. Potential support includes cross-promotion, platform opportunities, commercial planning, public relations, creator outreach and event activity. Developers in the program may also gain access to Tripwire's existing player community, its relationships with storefronts and platforms, promotional planning and guidance around pricing, discount timing, sales and longer-term lifecycle management.
That lifecycle element is important because the first five games are not all in the same place. Some have just reached or passed a full launch, while others are still in Steam Early Access. The initiative is intended to work with titles before release, during Early Access and after launch, potentially giving studios a route to renewed visibility even after their initial release window has passed.
"Tripwire Presents is starting this new program to give additional visibility to great self-published indie games that we feel Tripwire fans will absolutely love," said Bryan West, Publishing Director at Tripwire Presents. "These titles are from scrappy developers who have done the hard work of both creating and promoting a game themselves. We want to shine a spotlight on these gems to help each of them reach a broader audience."

The initial selection also gives a clear indication of the kinds of games the publisher wants to champion. These are not five variations on a single genre or audience trend. Instead, the collection is built around games with individual hooks, from fleet-building combat and co-op league competition to unsettling folklore and the comic-book sci-fi tone of Mars Attacks.
The First Five Games
The Boss Gangster: Criminal Empire
BEF Games' The Boss Gangster: Criminal Empire combines action, simulation and management in a fictional setting called Night City during the early 2000s. Players take part in open-world criminal activity while building and managing their empire, blending direct gameplay with the broader decisions expected of a management game.
The title left Steam Early Access on October 27. It is available on PC via Steam for $18.99, with a 20% discount running through November 10. A free playable demo is also available, giving interested players a chance to see how its open-world and management elements fit together before purchasing.
Starforged Legacy
Starforged Legacy, developed by Second Shift Games, brings a more combat-driven science-fiction angle to the opening lineup. It is a single-player action roguelike and bullet hell game in which players begin with one starcraft and develop it into a warship capable of operating at fleet level.
Its progression is based around salvaging weapons and augmentations, allowing a run to reshape the player's craft and its combat capabilities. The premise suggests a game centered on adapting to incoming threats while making successive build choices that affect how a small vessel becomes a far more formidable machine. Starforged Legacy is available in Steam Early Access on PC for $7.99.
Mars Attracts
Outlier Games' Mars Attracts approaches management simulation from a particularly unusual angle. Set in the Mars Attacks universe, the game puts players in control of Martians running a park. That means constructing enclosures, handling staff and abducting humans to populate the attraction.
The game recently moved out of Early Access and is now available on Steam for PC at $24.99. Outlier Games has also released a free content update that adds a new type of human enclosure along with a time-limited Halloween decor set. The update is described as the first of more planned updates, making the post-launch period a meaningful part of the game's ongoing development.
For a program emphasizing help throughout a game's lifecycle, Mars Attracts is a useful example of what post-launch support can look like: a full release followed by new content, seasonal material and opportunities to bring fresh attention to the game.
One-Eyed Likho
Morteshka's One-Eyed Likho offers the most overtly unsettling entry in the group. This first-person dark folk horror adventure takes inspiration from 19th-century Slavic folklore and places players in shadow-filled environments where survival depends on exploration and solving fire-based puzzles.
The central menace is Likho, a malevolent figure players must outwit while moving through the game's dark landscapes. The specific cultural foundation and puzzle focus distinguish it from a conventional action-horror release, with the game leaning into atmosphere, folklore and the use of light and fire as gameplay tools. One-Eyed Likho is available for PC on Steam for $19.99.
Eslabong
The fifth game, shirowita's Eslabong, blends tactical strategy with the operational side of running a mercenary club. Players recruit mercenaries, create squads and take them into seasonal leagues and cups. It can be played alone or cooperatively, offering a different structure from a purely competitive multiplayer game while retaining the appeal of building a team over time.
Like Starforged Legacy, Eslabong is currently in Steam Early Access. It is available on PC for $14.99, and a free playable demo is available. The combination of squad composition, club management and seasonal competition gives it a progression-driven hook that could appeal to players looking for a strategy game with both tactical and organizational decisions.
What the Expansion Could Mean for Indie Teams
The announcement does not detail the exact structure of every partnership, and the support available to one game may not match the needs of another. Still, the stated emphasis on flexible, developer-friendly arrangements is significant. Smaller studios often need a specific missing piece rather than a complete publishing takeover: better timing for a discount, access to a promotional event, help contacting creators, a stronger press campaign or a plan for sustaining momentum after release.
By targeting titles across pre-release, Early Access and post-launch stages, Tripwire Presents is also acknowledging that a game's commercial opportunity does not end on launch day. Early Access games may need assistance communicating their roadmap and updates, while fully released projects may need help turning patches, content additions or sales into meaningful moments of renewed attention.
For players, the immediate result is a curated batch of five games that might otherwise be easy to miss amid the constant stream of PC releases. The range of genres means there is no single "Tripwire Presents indie" formula beyond distinct concepts and teams that have already taken substantial steps to bring their games to market.
Tripwire Presents says more information about the initiative, including details on current games and future additions, will be shared later. For now, the first wave establishes the program as a PC-focused effort built around practical publishing support, with Steam releases spanning fresh launches, ongoing Early Access projects and games preparing for continued post-launch updates.
All five initial games are available on PC through Steam, with demos offered for The Boss Gangster: Criminal Empire and Eslabong.
